Covid 19 Update

Alder Road Dental Practice is pleased to inform you that we are now in a position to safely welcome you and your families back to the practice for routine care.

We have worked hard over the past months to ensure that we have a safe environment for our patients and staff and you may notice some changes around the practice.

Please bear with us as we aren’t able to see as many patients each day as we did before but our team are working hard to prioritise appointments based on patient need.

If you do have a dental emergency then please call us and we will talk you through the next steps. We kindly ask patients to only attend the practice if they have an appointment and to continue to follow Government guidelines on social distancing.

Please contact the team for further information.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Take care and keep safe.

From the Dental Team at Alder Road Dental Practice.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have an urgent problem. Can you help?

Of course. Please call us on 01202 528 529. We may be able to see you today if we have a spare appointment.

I have an out of hours emergency. Can you help?

If you’re one of our private patients please call the emergency contact number. You can find this in the welcome pack we sent when you registered with us.
For all other emergencies please call 111.

I use a wheelchair. Will I be able to get into your practice?

Yes. We have wheelchair access to all of our downstairs consulting rooms.

I’m a registered NHS patient at this practice but would benefit from seeing a dentist at a different practice. Will I lose my NHS place with you?

No, you won’t. We understand that sometimes we may need to refer you for specialist treatment elsewhere. Please be reassured that we’ll continue to provide all your routine care.

I’m registered with another NHS dentist but would like to come to you for cosmetic treatment. Can I do this?

Yes, you can. We offer a wide range of cosmetic treatments, including facial aesthetics, and would love to welcome you to our practice.

I’m really scared of needles but I need to have treatment. Can you help?

Yes, we understand some people feel nervous about visiting the dentist and there are lots of things we can do to help you. All our dentists are trained to help anxious patients and will provide you with kind and gentle care. Please be reassured we’ll never proceed with a treatment unless you’re happy for us to do so.

At what age should I bring my baby to see the dentist?

We encourage you to bring your baby to see us from a very young age, even before their first teeth come through. We always make children’s appointments fun so that they look forward to a visit to the dentist. This will help them develop good oral hygiene habits that will last a lifetime.

How can I find out which treatment would be best to improve my smile?

The best thing you can do is book an appointment so you can talk to one of our dentists. They’ll be happy to help you and discuss which of our treatments would be best for you. In the meantime, have a look at our treatments pages. They include lots of helpful information, photographs and case studies.

I don’t like the colour of my teeth. Is there anything I can do?

The best thing you can do is book an appointment to talk to one of our dentists about whitening your teeth. It’s easy to do and most patients are thrilled with the results. It’s also worth knowing that it’s illegal for beauticians, salons and other beauty outlets to provide teeth whitening treatments unless there’s a dental professional present.

What can I do to improve my smile?

There are lots of things you can do to get the smile you always dreamed of. Modern braces work quickly to straighten your teeth. And our complete Smile design treatment uses a range of techniques to give you a straighter, whiter and beautifully natural-looking smile. Book an appointment and talk to one of our dentists about which would be best for you.

I have a missing tooth. Can you replace it?

Yes. There are a number of ways we can replace missing teeth including bridges, implants and dentures. Book an appointment and one of our dentists will help you decide which will be best for you.

Should I make an appointment to see the hygienist?

Yes, we advise everyone to have regular appointments with the hygienist. They will help you maintain good oral health, prevent decay and gum disease and have confidence in your smile.

Do I have to see a dentist at the practice before I see the hygienist?

No, you’re welcome to have appointments with the hygienist whenever you’d like to. However, we do recommend that you also have regular check-ups with the dentist.

Do you offer finance to help me manage the cost of treatment?

Yes, we offer 0% finance for any treatment over £500.00. All you need to do is fill in a form at the practice. We’ll be able to approve your application on the spot.

I’m not registered with you. Can I still make an appointment?

Of course, we’d love to welcome you to the practice. Call us on 01202 528 529 and one of our friendly team will help you register with us. It’s a quick and easy process.
