Cookie settingsWhat are cookies?
Cookies are small text files used to store small pieces of information. They are stored on your device when a website loads in your browser. Cookies and similar browser-storage technologies help us make the website function properly, keep it secure, remember your choices and, where you agree, understand how the website performs and where it needs improvement.
How do we use cookies?
Like most online services, our website uses first-party and third-party cookies and similar technologies for a number of purposes. First-party cookies are set by our website; third-party technologies are provided by services such as Google. Some cookies contain identifiers that may be personal data, so they are not necessarily anonymous.
At Alder Road Dental, we use CookieYes to remember your cookie choices, Google reCAPTCHA to help protect forms from spam, and optional Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website. Analytics is off by default and is controlled by the Analytics category in Cookie Settings.
We also display Google reviews through Trustindex. Our latest scan did not detect a Trustindex-specific cookie, although the widget connects to Trustindex to display reviews. Our online appointment-booking link takes you to a separate service with its own privacy and cookie information.
What types of cookies do we use?
Essential: These support necessary website functions, remember your privacy choices and help protect forms from bots and spam. They include consent records and reCAPTCHA security storage. Essential technologies may contain identifiers and are not necessarily free of personal information. They cannot be switched off through our cookie settings where they are necessary to provide the service requested.
Statistics: Google Analytics helps us understand visits, sessions and page usage through browser and device information and pseudonymous identifiers. You can allow or reject this optional category using the Analytics switch. Our scan detected a two-hour lifetime for the analytics cookies.
Marketing: Our latest scan did not identify advertising or marketing cookies. An Advertisement option may appear in the consent panel, but its presence does not mean that advertising cookies are in use.
Functional: These technologies support website features. Our scan identified WordPress session storage that checks whether your browser supports emoji display. The site also uses a Trustindex review widget; no Trustindex-specific cookie was detected in the scan. Optional categories shown in the settings are not necessarily in use.
Preferences: CookieYes stores your cookie preferences so that the website can remember your choices. The consent records detected by our scan last for one year. These privacy-choice records are necessary consent cookies.

How can I control the cookie preferences?
To change your preferences, use the Cookie Settings control near the top of this page. You can enable or disable optional cookie categories and save your choices. You can also reopen the controls using Cookie preferences. Continuing to browse or scroll does not mean you consent.
Accept All and Reject reload the page to apply your choice. If you change individual categories, reload the page afterwards to stop scripts already loaded. reCAPTCHA remains active for spam protection when optional analytics is rejected. Your choices apply to the browser and device you are using.
Different browsers also provide methods to block and delete cookies and other website data. You can change your browser settings to block or delete them. Changing a consent preference does not necessarily delete data already stored, and blocking all cookies may affect website functions. To find out more about managing and deleting cookies, visit wikipedia.org or www.allaboutcookies.org.
